In a word..."Yes!" Educated, compassionate people have known for decades that human-caused greenhouse gas emissions are making climate change steadily worse.
Now, the UN is preparing a 4,000 page report that bluntly declares the human race may soon lose its race against time and our addiction to the fossil fuel industry's poisonous snake oil.
The Guardian described that "The [UN] report warns of a series of thresholds beyond which recovery from climate breakdown may become impossible," and quoted the UN report as declaring "Life on Earth can recover from a drastic climate shift by evolving into new species and creating new ecosystems… humans cannot.
The worst is yet to come, affecting our children's and grandchildren's lives much more than our own." The Guardian quoted Agence France-Presse as reporting "Species extinction, more widespread disease, unlivable heat, ecosystem collapse, cities menaced by rising seas – these and other devastating climate impacts are accelerating and are bound to become evident in the decades ahead."
According to The Guardian, "The report also said that the millions of people who live along coastlines almost everywhere around the world could be battered by multiple climate calamities at once: drought, heatwaves, cyclones, wildfires and flooding."
